Matthew Brady

18/04/2017

Let me tell you something, I had just only met Brady one (or maybe two times) during one year he had been in Vietnam. We had played football together in Saigon, actually he had been  one of the members of Hardly Athletic, the rival team of my team, Saigon United before.

But like a destiny, we met again in Milan. And as a coincidence, we came to Milan to watch the derby game. After contacts many time, we could meet in a Irish bar near the central of Milan. In the bar, Brady met me, Paolo and the best friend of Paolo in Milan, Francesco. We talked many things, but the main was football. He shared his wonderful experiences in San Siro during the time of the derby game like me. From Italy, we changed to Scotland to talk about Celtic and Rangers. Every few minutes, we talked about the other topics but then, football again.Brady told me that he would continue his English teaching job in Japan with his friend, James Chidwick, who had played football with me in Saigon too. I hope the new journey in Japan could be an unforgettable trip for him.

Because he would have a flight back to Scotland in the day after at 7am, so we could not stay in the bar longer. But I was really happy that time, you know, because it looked like a small Saigon around me. Brady had been there last year, I come from Saigon, Paolo and Francesco were there too 2 years ago and they are having a plan to do it again. So it felt like home.

The only thing that I quite regret for Brady was he had bought a ticket to watch Inter - Milan around 100eur for a seat in the area of the Interistas while I had just paid ...30eur. Next time for sure, you need to call me or Paolo to have a discount, mate !
